Pastor's Pulpit

Our White Christmas!
Just a note to let you know that we had a real winter blizzard here in Eastern North Carolina. We were not able to have church yesterday. It snowed from Saturday night through Sunday evening and we got at least 12" of snow!! ( See pictures below) We don't have the means of clearing the roads here like in most Northern states. But the Lord is in control, and knows when we just need to have a break and enjoy His wonderful creation. This is a rare event around here, once in a while in the winter we get some snow, but this is the most we have had in 20 years!!
My family and I had church at home by watching a live-stream service from North Valley Baptist Church in Santa Clara, CA. Dr Jack Treiber preached a wonderful message. You can check out his website by clicking the link we have here on our site via Golden State Baptist College.

I drove around and by our church today and most of the roads are clear, except the secondary roads. The church parking lot was still 98% covered in the snow. Hopefully the warmer temperatures will melt most of it away so we can have church Wednesday night. As of now we are planning to have services at 7:30PM.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and were able to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour in a special way. As always we read the Christmas story and had a time of prayer before opening our presents on Christmas morning. It is always fun just to see the girls open their presents, even though as they get older it is harder to find the right presents.

Since I didn't get a chance to preach yesterday, I will post a message later on the blog. I hope you will enjoy this winter weather while we have it. I was reading a missionary letter from Bro. Wayne King out in Wyoming and they hadn't had a lot of snow this year, and were hoping for a white Christmas. I am going to send him a picture of our White Christmas just to let him know we understand a little of what he's talking about.

God bless you today,
Pastor Taylor
